Exploration Station shawl - red and gold

Description

My first and far from my last Stephen West shawl.

I've mentioned before that I bought my first skein of Hedgehog Fibres this last summer, and I've been saving it for a proper Stephen West shawl, seeing as it's his signature yarn of choice for just about everything. Expencive luxury yarn is expencive and luxurious.
One of the first shawls I've ever seen of this guy was Exploration Station, so it didn't take me too long to decide on that one.
I think I might have taken longer to decide on the yarn I was going to use along with the Hedgehog skein rather than the pattern I was going to use. I kinda wanted all of the colours to kind of fit together and still stay within my "burgundy and gold" favorite combination. After several dives into my storeage and brainstorming with some friends, I ended up with the following yarns:
Colour 1: Knit Picks - Stroll Hand Painted Sockyarn - Red Wing Blackbird
Colour 2: Viking Yarns - Viking Blood
Colour 3: Filcolana - Arwetta Classic - 136
Colour 4: Hedgehog Fibres - Sock Yarn - Genie

I will for sure make more of this one but in different coloures, and I've already got a combination picked for one of his other patterns. So excited! I just need to finish some of the UFO's and WIP's I've got lying around first, and I've kinda promised myself not to start another shawl until I've finished the shawl UFO I've got lying around... But when will I have enough time?
