Yogscast - Simon amigurumi doll by KnitLizzy Yogscast - Simon amigurumi doll by KnitLizzy
Since I'm currently crazy fangirling over the Yogscast people, I decided to go ahead and go crazy with fancrafts. This here is Simon, a hole digging crazed dwarf. I started him 10 days ago and finished him up early this morning. He's based off Simon's Minecraft skin.

For those of you who don't know, Yogscast are a group with Youtubers from UK that does Let's Plays, founded in 2009 by Simon Lane and Lewis Brindley. It all started with the mail channel between the two of them but quickly branched out with several side channels. They now have almost 20 channels and many, many millions of subscribers between them all. The most popular ones are Simon and Lewis, Duncan, Sjin and Sips. I will hopefully be making all of them.

I'm still not very good with freestyle crocheting, so I did base Simon here off of Lalylala's body form. He's made with Senjagarn wool yarn on a 2,5mm hook. It took me forever to get the skin color right. I was searching all over the place for a beige skein in the right weight, but without any luck, so I decided to just try and dye it. It took several tries, but I did manage to get it just about perfect when dyeing with tea! Hopefully I'll have enough yarn for the other four characters too... Read about my struggle here.

A huge thanks to Pickleweasel360 for helping me out with ideas, working out errors and also pointing me in the right directions. She also helped me work out the horns on his helmet by using her Witch Hat pattern.

Thank you ^^ I'm on a crochet roll right now, so I'll just have to work with it while I still remember the stitches. As soon as I put it down for 2-3 weeks, I'll have to relearn them

In real life, Simon seems like the kind of person to hug a lot. XD That and Lewis. Those two are such a hoot!

Don't forget the Jaffa Cakes! :)
