Smooth camo slushy hat

Description

Earlier in december, I tried to do some yarn dyeing again. Creativity-Squared showed me a hat and scarf she had made in camo yarn, and I really loved the result. Of course, it seems to be impossible to find camo yarn in a good wool quality, so I decided to dye it myself. I dug out two skeins of yellow sock yarn, 80% wool, 20% nylon blend. These I first put in a bath of black tea to get a brown/beige colour. Afterwards I put about half of the skein in a green food dye bath and the other half in a coffee bath. The green colour did not stick very well to the yarn, and it all came out very smooth in colour, which is why I call it smooth camo.
I am not 100% happy, but the colours still look good together, and I managed to work them up into a very slushy hat. The pictures I took of me wearing it didn't turn out so good, so I'm only submitting this instead.

I will have to try another dye later on when I get my hands on more green Kool-Aid. I've got a feeling that it might give a better result.

Yarn: Self dyed Silja, 80% wool, 20% nylon and some black scraps
