Recycled bottle decorations - Be my Valentine

Seems fitting that whenever I grow tired of my current projects and feel unmotivated to do anything, I start working on scraps.

Over Christmas, I saw several people making cozies and ornament for wine bottles, both old and new, so I figured I'd give it a try. As luck would have it, I happened to have five empty and old bottles of Riesling Müstique sitting around from ages ago. As you can tell, these bottles have a very straight look to them, no curves, so it made it easy to crochet a tightly fitted sock with simple decreasings towards the bottle neck.

My second of these recycled bottle thingies. My first thought was to make a bunch of candy coloured bottles as the challenge entry for this month over at Knitting-and-Crochet, but I didn't have good enough colours to do that. Though, I might be able to make one bottle that's kinda "candy"...

These are cotton scraps. I've been saving all of my cotton scraps for scrap dish cloths, but since I hate weaving in cotton ends more than anything, I figured I'd do something else with them. I pulled out all the Valentine-esque colours and worked up a fitting cozy and added hearts as extra ornaments.

There's no real pattern here. I used a 3,5mm hook, chained 42, joined in the round and worked single crochet until it was long enough. Then I did an simple decrease on top. I also crocheted one round in the back of the loop on top, to give it that sharp edge feel.
