Picnic zigzag summer top

GREEN!!!

Talk about killing two birds with one stone! Or rather five birds! This top covered so many things that I had to get done! Well, even tho the pattern say "pullover" I choose to say top...or rather a t-shirt.

Anyway!
Bird 1: It's my entry for the Garden Party contest over at
Bird 2: It's my entry for the zigzag challenge over at
Bird 3: I got to use 8 out of 12 skeins in beautiful green tones I got from Phil Coton 3, Phildar
Bird 4: I got to use 3 out of 4 skeins in light pink I recieved in a giveaway a few months back. Cotton Light, Drops
Bird 5: I got to make myself a summer top in cotton yarn! It's not what I had in mind when I first set this goal for myself, but I'm happy with it nonetheless!

Oh my gawd! This top gave me endless grief at the end! It took me about 7 hours just to weave in the green ends! And all the purling was horrible x_x Then the ribbing on the cowl/collar and sleeves was also outrageous! Took forever, I was procastinating with Animal Crossing New Leaf to no end and I just wanted to throw the whole thing far, far away!
Luckily I didn't, and I'm super happy with the result!

I didn't have any buttons that really fitted this top with its colors, so I had to go with 3 different pairs instead with floral pattern, which actually worked out pretty well! Got these buttons off etsy some time ago...can't remember who it was from tho...

Now, since this was for the Garden Party contest, I figured I had to fix the scenery and make a little picnic with two of my plushies. Even tho it doesn't really yell "PARTY", it does yell "GARDEN" and "SUMMER" and that's good enough for me! And I had to put in the zigzag pattern around the belly so it would fit into the zigzag challenge, and also look a bit more interesting than plain stripes all the way.
