Night blue transforming gloves by KnitLizzy Night blue transforming gloves by KnitLizzy
Today's my boyfriends birthday ~Dadaph so I've been working on these gloves for him for the last few days. He wasn't sure if he wanted gloves or mittens so I made him these that's a mix. They have an extra hood that you can just flip over the fingers, and voila, mittens! This makes them extra warm as well. I also sewed on a button on the ribbing on each of them so the hoods can be fastened there when not in use.

The yarn really reminded me of a night sky (it's darker blue in real life tho) so I submitted it to this challenge [link].

Pattern can be found here: [link]

Yours are so much nicer that the pattern project. I don't have the patience for gloves, but they're absolutely beautiful.

Thank you very much ^^ I'm not that fond of gloves myself, cause of all the fingers, but they're still fun if the pattern's fun

Wow, that DOES kinda look like the night sky :D

I've always wanted mittens like that..... but it doesn't really get THAT cold here :P

I usualy see that kind of gloves/mittens, but without the fingers. They're really cool and useful because if you need to use your hands you put back the mittens part. If you don't need to use the hands you use them with the mittens part. It's lovely. :3

Indeed they are! The pattern was originally without fingertips and I'm thinking of knitting more of these, but then really without the fingertips... ^^

In North America, we call convertible gloves "Hobo Gloves", though the fingertips are usually missing in Hobo Gloves. Yours are great! =) I bet they're really warm!

Thank you! Yeah, the original pattern lacks the fingertips, but I added them since he wanted either gloves or mittens and not gloves with cut fingers :P They seem pretty warm, sadly, I have to many rings to use gloves, so I'm in a endless search for the perfect mittens!

I know, photographs always seem to make blue and red way off colour, I don't know why :/

And that is a beautiful gift you knitted for him! I hope he enjoys them =)
