What a pain! These were soooo boring to knit, and a hazard to work on in daylight! If the sun hit the yarn, you would go blind cause of the brightness! But oh so awesome!
I decided to make these for the neon challenge at
I just couldn't resist, not with 8 skeins of bright acryllic neon yarn lying around... I bought this yarn when I was visiting a crafts store in Oslo in january. All the yarn they sell are crappy acryllic ones, but I just had to take a closer look at these. Orange, yellow, pink and green neon yarn. The yarn is Standar No. 1 from Lammy yarns and I decided to get these cause I actually had two skeins of it back in 8-9th grade, so nostalgia took me. Usually, I hate to work with acryllic yarn because it just feels icky... I prefer anything over acryllic really... But it's not that easy to find neon colored yarn in wool...
announced their challenge, I got really excited and couldn't wait to get started with something with this yarn. Had to look through a bunch of recepies, and I was tempted to do a fair-isle sock pair with it. I ended up with another Drops pattern. It took me about 5 skeins to make these, using both the green ones, so I got a bunch left for another future neon project!
Actually, I'm cheating a little with these... I haven't gotten around to weave in all the ends yet cause it takes too long! I needed to take the pictures and put it up here for the challange. But you can imagina all the ends on the wrong side...it's a nightmare for sure...
Pattern can be found here [link]
