Lettopi Bolero

Description

Started this bolero sometime before Christmas but couldn't find time to finish it up before recently.

In the store which I work at, we carry this beautiful Icelandic wool yarn called Lettlopi. I have heard so much about this yarn, but never actually managed to get hold of any for myself...until now. It is coarse and thick, not to mention warm as all heck, so I knew I had to make something fun with it. After a few google runs, I found this cute bolero that didn't take too much yarn and would work great as a test project. The yarn is really coarse though, so if you're sensitive to wool yarn, you will not survive wearing it without atleast two protective layers underneat. But since I'm a Viking (brag brag brag) I was able to wear this directly on my skin. Yes, the dress I'm wearing in these pictures is sleeveless and I did use the bolero all day. My niece refused to hug me though, telling me that I must have accidently knit a hedgehog into it...

I've used all of the original colours except for the lightest blue, it should have been a touch darker...

After knitting this thing up, I knew I needed to make myself a cardigan with it, and I've already got the yarn ready...just need to find a time slot for it...

Well, you most certainly are a Viking to wear a dress on an early spring day with snow outside, having only a bolero to keep you warm! ;P
Though it's a pretty one.
