Four pairs of scrap yarn socks

Description

In july this year, I knitted 7 pairs of socks, three of them for my three little nieces, two for my good friend *Furiael and two for my boyfriend ~Dadaph. The last four ones are shown in this picture, and they are all made out of "scrap" yarn. The two on the left are for my boyfriend and they were made out of scraps from felted slippers and old yarn I had lying. The two on the right for my friend was made out of old cellphone/DS socks and two balls of yarn that I had lying which I did not know what to do with.

I love knitting socks, both with colorwork patterns and just easy ones like these. The only thing I DON'T like about knitting socks is the heel... I hate doing the heels on them and it almost always comes out wrong atleast one time!

I love knitting socks, too - they're my favourite thing to knit. Have you ever tried different types of sock heels? I've recently tried Cat Bordhi's Sweet Tomato Heel (youtube tutorial here: [link]) and I also particularly like the Strong Heel, though I don't know where one would find instructions online. I have them in a pattern leaflet from The Little Box of Socks. If you're interested, I can write them up for you and send them. There's no heel flap and no picking up of stitches along the sides.
