Baby polar bear blankie

When I was a kid, a blankie was this huge piece of cloth that was torn out of my moms old nightgown. But when I now see my three nieces grow up, they got these high quality, small squares with a soft cuddly fabric on top and silk underneat and an animals head, maby even arms. They cost alot in the stores too, so I never understood why they had 2-3 of them...each!

So then I decided that I could knit one for my friend's little baby girl whom save the world for the first time in the end of november, three months too early. I had this old skein of Mandarin Petite, 100% egyptian cotton and it was super soft. It was just enough for the blankie itself which turned out to be aprox 34x34cm, knitted diagonal. The small head was knitted in Bomull Sport, wich is 100% normal cotton, the crochet boarder and scraf, the same.
